The first 30 minutes of mindfulness Thurles use Yoga movement as a way to explore how to use mindfulness as a part of our moving ‘doing’ lives. Becoming ‘mindful’ creates an expansive awareness of not only our lives, but the lives of those we live with.

Without awareness in our actions you will find that you are in automatic. Whilst we perform daily activities, we begin to inquire, are we at the specific task or are we thinking of something that happened three days ago?

Or perhaps we are ruminating on how a meeting will go in the future…not really at the project we are working on at this moment.This is how the mind works – as fast as the speed of light…when we take time between the thoughts and our actions or reactions we reduce stress. Sounds easy…but it is far from that.

The first half hour of mindfulness classes in Thurles is a reminder of just how we can build awareness in every small or large movement we make in our ‘doing’ life.

The second part of these classes, the last 30 minutes, is spent in formal mindfulness practice.

Formal practice is the foundation of daily living mindfulness. It feeds, supports, encourages, examines and brings curiosity to how our mind works.

How all our minds work similarly is a comfort. We all have minds that are vexed with familiar activity…be it overactive, hyperactive, static, calm, depressed, elated, whatever mind state you can imagine, every human has touched on one part of this in some degree. That is a constant reminder that we support others as well as ourselves using mindfulness.

Formal mindfulness practice is the necessary glue to bind and affirm awareness in our daily lives.
